Bespoke Strength Training for Running.

There are so many good reasons why people get in to running.

 

If you do run, for whatever reason, at whatever pace; be that for racing, for head space, for general health and wellbeing or just get out of the house... then you are a runner.

 

You will be well aware that the worst feeling is not being able to run - and if it's because of an injury, it's very frustrating.

 

One of the regular 'runner's thoughts' that pops in to a runner's head when they're in their own headspace is; how can I go further, or faster, or run more often without breaking myself? Or indeed, all of these!

 

There is an increasing amount of research pointing to the benefits of regular strength training. Benefits that include (but are not limited to);

 

Increased resilience to injury.

Increased effeciency.

Decreased recovery times.

Increased Power and Acceleration.

 

This applies no matter what your chosen distance is. So if you're after an improvement in your 3km run to or from the station/home, or your local Park Run, or that annual Half Marathon, or a planned 'once in a life time' Iron-Man Triathlon, or anything inbetweeen, then some specific strength training may well be the part of the training jigsaw you're missing.
